the road ahead
Sahali Fellowship has
made a communal commitment to leave their nets to follow Jesus. What does that
look like? The framework of following Jesus is God’s garden. It means plowing,
that is, preparing he soil, expressed in social justice and serving others;
planting, that is, sowing seed, expressed in sharing the good news of Jesus as
Savior and Lord; and watering, that is, caring for one another and growing in
our faith to produce fruit. Through August, we will discern, discuss, and
determine what this framework means for us as we follow Jesus.
August 1
Isaiah 58:6-10 “Plowing”
Talk about faith
that is real, faith that people would notice, faith that proclaims a caring God.
Pray about how you would express that faith and share your ideas on at this
Sunday’s discussion.
August 8
Matthew 13:1-23 “Planting”
Talk about sharing
our faith, sharing Jesus, sharing the fullness of life, the purpose of life,
the gift of life. Pray about how you can share the good news and tell us your
ideas at this Sunday’s discussion.
August 15
John 15:1-17 “Watering”
Talk about growing
your faith, using your gifts, developing knowledge, compassion, loving, serving
others. Pray about how you can grow and produce fruit and express your ideas at
this Sunday’s discussion.
