Beginning Thursday, September 26, at 7 pm, adult bible study will be meeting at the church. We will be looking at the gospel of Mark, and what the good news of Mark means for us and how we live faithfully for God. You are welcome to join us for this study.
Shaping Our Gratitude
Each person wants their character to be formed by gratitude. No one wants to be an ingrate. But how do we grow and live out a life of gratitude? Our current sermon series will explore how our lives can be shaped by gratitude in response to God’s grace in our lives. Please join us as we reflect on how we live gratefully in various aspects of our lives.
Christmas Eve Service
For Christmas time this year, Sahali Fellowship will be having a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Monday, December 24 at 6:00 pm. Our Christmas worship will include songs, a short drama led by the children, and some reflections on the wonder of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. All are welcome. Please note that we do not have a Christmas morning worship service. Merry Christmas!
Work Matters
This Fall at Sahali Fellowship, we will be talking about God’s will for work in our lives. Everyone works whether formally or informally. Yet we often wonder if our work really matters or whether we are truly living a Christian life in our place of work. We will explore the topic of work from various angles and raise questions many of us ask. Please join us in this exploration of an important part of all of our lives.
I Believe
The Apostles’ Creed has been the unifying statement of faith for Christianity throughout its history. Over the coming weeks, our Sunday sermons will be looking at the last section beginning with “I believe in the Holy Spirit” and then following with “the holy, catholic Church,” “the communion of saints,” “the forgiveness of sins,” “the resurrection of the dead,” and “the life everlasting.” We invite you to join us as we explore our faith together.
Lent 2018
Lent is the season where Christians focus on Jesus’ death on the cross. At Sahali Fellowship, we will be focusing on a few answers to “Why did Jesus die?” during our Sunday sermons. It is our hope that these sermons will deepen your gratitude for what Jesus did for us when he died on the cross.
Christ and Christians
Beginning January 7, we will start a six-week sermon series on the roles Jesus is the “anointed one” or “Christ/Messiah” and what those roles mean for Christians or “little Christs.” Please join us as seek to grow in the knowledge and grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
What Child Is This?
This Advent season (the four Sundays before Christmas), the sermons at Sahali Fellowship will be asking “what child is this?” At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of Jesus, often using a variety of names for Jesus: Jesus, God’s Only Son, Our Lord, Emmanuel, and Christ. But have we really thought about what those names really mean? By exploring these names of Jesus, we pray that Jesus will be known and proclaimed: Joy to the World!
NOTE regarding worship schedule: We will worship twice on December 24. Once at 9:45 am and at 6 pm for our Christmas Eve Candlelight service. There is no English language service on Christmas Day. (There will be a Korean language service.)
Growing in Grace and Knowledge
Beginning September 10, Sahali Fellowship is looking at 1 and 2 Peter on Sunday morning. Our theme verse is the last verse of 2 Peter: “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. Our prayer for is that we will grow in God’s grace, both as we experience living hope and as we live the gift of faith, and grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus.
God, who Touches Earth with Beauty
Beginning on June 11 and continuing over the summer (with some interruptions), we will be looking at God’s beautiful creation and how scripture writers often used aspects of nature to help us understand the greatness of God as well as his love for us. The sermon series was prompted by a song entitle “God, who Touches Earth with Beauty”, words by Mary Susanne Edgar and music by Gregg DeMey. Our prayer for these sermons is the same as the opening line of the song: “God, who touches earth with beauty, make my heart anew.”
